PrayerCenter
Praying for hours will not make you a Christian, but every true Christian prays. Jesus prayed. Paul prayed. God commands us to pray. Though the storms and seas obey Him ,Christians do not. Andrew Murray called "prayerlessness" sin . In other words it is disobedience to God. You may say " I pray for a few minutes every day". How much time do you spend with other things? Paul wrote " Redeem the time?" Is that written across your life? You may say, "but I do not feel led to pray much". You do not need to wait for leadings to obey God's Word. You may say "I do not have an amazing feeling of faith and so God will not hear me". Faith is not based on feelings, but upon God's Word. We do not come to God in prayer through feelings ,but through Jesus Christ. We know God loves us because we are his children. We know He will answer our prayers. The last question I ask is are you on praying ground ? Is there ought that could hinder God answering your prayers? Are you honoring your parents? Is there bitterness in your life? Do you listen to worldy music? Are you starting to compromise with friends that are slowly lowering your standards. Is God still first in your life? If so then there is only one way out af such a worthless life. Rend your heart and not your garment . Pray and ask God to forgive you! Show him you are serious by asking forgivess from those you have wronged, forgive those who have wronged you and break ties with worldy friends ,music and any other thing not to the glory of God. There is no excuse. God can set you free. Ask God to give you a life of prayer! Spend much time in reading the Bible . Time with God's word leads to a vibrant prayer life! PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! God will move. Not because you have great faith, but because you have faith in the great (and only true) God of the Bible .
Math 06:05,06,07 "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to stand in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when thou prayest; use not vain rpetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." |
